Lighthouse Point is located in Broward County, Florida along the Intracoastal Waterway and near to Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and Pompano Beach. It is a small, well-kept enclave of mostly single family homes and a handful of Intracoastal condominiums and townhomes.

Once mangrove swamps, the city was incorporated in 1956 and named for the historical Hillsboro Lighthouse. Quiet, winding, tree-shaded streets line the neighborhoods of Lighthouse Manor, Hillsboro Estates, Pompano Waterway Estates, Venetian Isles, Lake Placid, Wooler Heights, Coral Key, Lighthouse Point Estates and Hillsboro Isles. Many of the homes, some with deepwater dockage, are on the 18 miles of navigable waterways all within minutes to the Hillsboro Inlet.

This small town city has approximately 20 acres of parks offering residents miles of paths and trails, playgrounds, picnic areas and athletic fields for tennis, basketball, racquetball and volleyball for year round enjoyment. There are also many annual events popular with its citizens including the Dog Day in the Park, Lighthouse A'Glow and Pops in the Park.

Lighthouse Point is also home to the historic Cap's Place once visited by Churchill and Roosevelt. Set on a small island, this rustic restaurant is only accessible by boat. They are known for their heart of palms salad and their delicious key lime pie! It's certainly a place not to be missed.
